You may be eligible for a digital antenna kit, which is offered free of charge by the federal government. Take three minutes to see if you qualify and learn the application process.

With the introduction of 5G technology in Brazil, many changes and improvements have emerged, such as high-speed internet. However, for certain groups, particularly low-income families, this innovation can represent an obstacle to accessing open TV channels.

This is due to possible interference of the analog TV signal by 5G networks. To address this challenge, the Brazilian government is providing digital antennas, ensuring that the population maintains free access to television programming.

The government's goal is to eventually disable traditional satellite dish signals, so it's important to understand how to order your digital dish.

What does the free digital antenna kit look like?

Provided by government, the kit includes all the equipment needed to receive open channels after the arrival of 5G.

The kit consists of a digital satellite dish, a converter (receiver), coaxial cables, remote control and additional accessories for installation. All of these items are designed to capture and decode the digital signal, ensuring high-quality image and sound, without interference.

Those who still use traditional satellite dishes run the risk of losing access to open channels. The government plans to completely switch off these signals by 2026, leaving only the digital signal.

Therefore, the distribution of kits by the government is crucial to promote digital inclusion, benefiting approximately 1.5 million people.

Advantages of the kit made available by the federal government In addition to enabling access to open TV after the implementation of 5G, the new digital antennas offer several other advantages, including:

Improved image and sound quality: The most notable difference between analog and digital signals is the clarity of the image and the superior audio quality, free from noise and distortion.

Access to local and regional channels:

With a digital antenna, it becomes possible to tune into channels that were previously unavailable.

Interference immunity: The transition to the new frequency eliminates the risk of interruptions by 5G networks or other services.

Free-to-air TV: Allows people to continue watching free-to-air TV without the cost of a paid digital antenna or subscription TV service.

Ease of installation: Installation is free and carried out by a technician, who also provides guidance on how to use the equipment.

The distribution of digital converters has already begun throughout the country, and by the end of 2022, 10,000 families will have benefited. Registration to request the kit is free and can be done online, in a simple and bureaucracy-free manner.
